Cookie Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on berkos.co. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage, and scripts that read information from your device, such as screen size or browser language.
2. Essential website storage
We store your cookie choice and the display state of the Kobi pop-up in your browser. These records stay on your device, are not used to track you and are needed for the site to work as you expect. Staff who sign in to the private admin area also receive sign-in storage.
3. Analytics technologies
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how visitors use the site. It only loads after you click Accept, only on berkos.co, and advertising features are switched off.
Our verified GA4 settings are: event data retention of 2 months and user data retention of 14 months. Reset on new user activity is currently enabled, subject to review. Where this setting applies, new activity resets the relevant user's retention period.
These retention settings apply to the relevant user-level and event-level data controlled by GA4 retention settings. They do not necessarily determine the retention of aggregated analytics reports or all data held by Google. These periods are separate from the lifetime of cookies stored in your browser, listed below.
4. Third-party technologies
The footer contains a Google Maps map that only loads after you accept optional cookies. Rejecting or withdrawing consent keeps the map blocked. Some pages show images loaded from Instagram. These providers may receive technical information such as your IP address when content loads, and Google may set its own cookies inside the map after consent. WhatsApp and social media links only contact those services when you click them.
5. Cookie categories and inventory
| Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| berkos_cookie_consent | BERKOS | Essential | Remembers your Accept or Reject choice, its date and consent version (browser local storage) | Valid for 6 months; replaced when you choose again or removed when you clear browser data |
| kobi_popup_session_shown | BERKOS | Essential | Stops the Kobi pop-up appearing twice in one visit (session storage) | Until the browser tab is closed |
| kobi_popup_closed_at, kobi_popup_clicked_at | BERKOS | Essential | Pause the Kobi pop-up for 7 days after closing it, or 30 days after using it (local storage) | Until cleared; ignored after 7 or 30 days |
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 | Analytics (consent) | Distinguishes visitors | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics 4 | Analytics (consent) | Keeps session state | Up to 2 years |
6. Consent management
On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept optional cookies for Google Analytics 4 and Google Maps. These services do not load until you choose Accept. You can choose Reject and still browse the site and contact us; the embedded map remains blocked. Your choice is valid for 6 months. An expired choice or a change to the consent version requires a new choice.
7. Accepting or rejecting optional cookies
Click Accept or Reject in the banner. We store your choice so we don't ask on every page.
8. Changing or withdrawing consent
Use the Cookie Settings link in the website footer, or the button below, at any time. If you withdraw consent, analytics stops, we delete the Google Analytics cookies we can reach and the page reloads without analytics.
9. Duration
Durations for each item are shown in the inventory above. You can also clear cookies and storage in your browser settings.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
